Mining activities have been established in many areas because there are proper surveys done and confirm the existence of different plenty minerals in significant scales. The potential minerals found in the district are grouped as follows;-
Madini - Chuma
Dhahabu, Copper and Iron ore in Magambazi, Kwamagome, kilimamzinga and kwachaga villages;
Madini ya Viwandani
Dolomite, Graphite and Marble yaliyopo kwenye Vijiji vya Mkata, Kwedikwazu, Mumbwi, Chogo, Kitumbi, Mkalamo and Mzundu.
Madini ya vito na Ujenzi
Quartz, Kainite, Ruby, Garnet, Aquimarine, Rhodolite, Tourmaline, Spinal and Amethyst yanayopatikana kwenye Vijiji vya Kidereko, Kwasunga, chanika kofi and Kwanko.
The small-scale quarrying of sand and stone are a source of income and occur mainly in Magamba, Bogolwa, Kideleko and Segera villages.
